Novi Sad, Serbia The Rundown Village Of Petrovaradin

Do you be aware that rundown villages and places every so often have their personal allure? In a very unusual and particular way?

The Petrovaradin village is a very small village in Novi Sad, and is domestic to the sector famous in Serbia, the Petrovaradin Fortress.

I have to bypass by the village whenever I am going to Novi Sad city centre. The streets on this ghost city-like village have been nearly deserted and the most range of people I saw were at the bus stand on the main street, only a few minutes earlier than the bus arrived. The atmosphere is perhaps what humans could confer with as paying homage to communist Eastern Europe era. It looks unhappy and destitute, but the inventive aspect in me sees an unyielding, rather uncanny, attraction to it. If I may additionally, a bit surreal perhaps?

Peeled off and cracking paint on buildings. Auster and bleak. The loss of inexperienced (plants). Unkempt and no longer maintained streets. Writings, er I suggest vandalism on the partitions. Rust. Dilapidated and abandoned looking homes. Moss building up.

The village looked adore it just iced up in time. But there's wish for development I am sure.

Petrovaradin is positioned simply across the Danube River from massive sister town Novi Sad, the capital of the Vojvodina province. It is about an hour north from Beograd.

Here are a few of my pics of the village. Judge for your self.
