The ‘Schipfe’ is one of the oldest and captivating area of Zurich’s Altstadt (Old Town). It is a residential region on the western aspect of the River Limmat nestled among the Rudolf-Brun bridge and the Rathaus bridge.
The rectangular in Schipfe has a resident eating place of the same name.

My girfriends and I were having a touch stroll right here which took a looooooooong time due to infinite selfie posings, haha! I do no longer very own a selfie stick but my women from Canada, considered one of that's an extended misplaced pal, does. They were for me though heaven despatched, due to the fact even as they're busy doing the selfie stick element I ought to mind my very own business and take quite a few photos of the environment, something that does not come down too well with the Dutchman while we're travelling collectively.
“Can you walk a piece faster?” the Dutchman tells me, already irritated.
“Well as you could see... I am taking pix!” moi replying, properly, nearly barking virtually.
With the girlfriends, I do not have this trouble. In reality I actually have sufficient time to take all the pictures within the world. When I am achieved, they're nevertheless taking selfies! No kidding =)
But critically, I really liked this part of Zurich Old Town -- Schipfe.
We started the walk in Rudolf-Brun-Brucke. There is a timber foot course just underneath the bridge so one can lead you to Schipfe. It turned into virtually our plan to check out Schifpe but we didn’t recognize if this foot bridge was the ideal direction, but it does seem like it so preserving our palms crossed, we followed the path. Indeed it led us to the Schipfe!
The actual location of Schipfe, in between the Rudolf-Brun-Brucke and Rathausbrucke.
There is a nice restaurant right here on the square known as Schifpe as nicely which has an outside terrace with best perspectives of the river. The terrace of direction is only open at some stage in hotter months.
Many of the homes here in this neighbourhood are antique, a few even dating lower back to the 16th century. Here is an excerpt I found from the Zurich dot com website high-quality describing the location:
“Boats docked at "Schipfe" within the Middle Ages, which added silk, gold and food to Zurich. Today, the district is an idyllic vicinity to linger.” Read here to learn extra about this charming, historic and historical location: Traditional trades nonetheless cultivated today at Schipfe
I quite propose to have a little stroll here and revel in the old and quiet environment with scenic river perspectives.

Many locals come here on the stop of the day to take a seat down on the riverbank. It is a cosy piece of Zurich Old Town.
