My first come upon with the bar scene in Bologna became at the Quadrilatero place simply behind Piazza Maggiore.
While the "aperitivo" culture in northern Italy kicks-off (usually at 17:00 hours), this region in Bologna starts to get busy as well. Around 20:00 the Via Pescherie Vecchie will become completely crowded with locals and visitors. You would be in for a fortunate strike if you may spot a unfastened table here that's why many people favor to stand even as ingesting and eating on the streets. Perhaps one of the maximum surprisingly "social" places within the city.
The difference with those bars right here is that they may be really salumerias (butcher and cured meat stores) which have opened their doorways for casual dining. Informal terrace dining on the street so to speak. There are no so-referred to as "aperitivos" with bites that come along side your beverages here though. You can of path have your personal aperitivo but you will have to buy the alcholic drink on its personal and order one after the other the bites, consisting of a plate of salami and cheese of desire.
As you could have guessed it, that is my satisfied location, so that you can consider that I went completely gaga here =)
However, I cannot in reality advocate a selected salumeria due to the fact I think all of them are on the same league. I will weblog one after the other my experience at one of the salumerias separatetly. Honestly, just pick out any of the salumerias available with a table and you're prepared. On the facet streets you may also discover osterias and the food market, Mercato di Mezzo.
Definitely an area to hit for pre dinner liquids and bites. Just make certain to depart a few space for dinner later. If you are a foodie, then this is a MUST location!
Where is it at the map?
From Piazza Maggiore input the arched small street, Via Pescherie Vecchie, the main artery of the salumeria bars. It isn't tough to locate this road because it might be very busy and therefore catchy.
See picture beneath of the road.
I love the food vibe right here. Terrace dining, road-fashion and informal. Your pre-dinner restoration: Aperitif beverages + salumi + formaggi.
This is a very small alley and it may get very busy right here inside the early nighttime whilst the tables are out. During the day the road/region is a farmer's market.
One of the salumeria shops. I am in hog heaven, haha. You cannot cross wrong whichever salumeria you'll pick out from here.
The aspect road where the famous Osteria del Sole is positioned.
Quadrilatero area within the evening.
The food market, Mercato di Mezzo is positioned on the stop of the Via Pescherie Vecchie.
